School Yards and Public Places

This nice sign sat upon a three foot tall, thirty foot wide, traditionally landscaped (meaning boring) mound. Art and LInda's was commissioned to liven things up a bit.

Lets see what we did!

Everything had to go except some of the Horizontal Juniper. Here you see us removing a thick, heavy felt weed-screen. Nothing could be worse! It prevents the free exchange of oxygen and moisture betweem the atmosphere and the soil. Weed-screens usually cause more harm than good.

After the weed-screen was removed we rototilled plenty of composted humus and manure into this sterile, compacted rubble-pile.

Here we are a year later.

What a difference a year makes! Dazzling isn't it!

Some little, decorative design features also spruce things up a bit.

The birdbaths, one of our signature features, really looks like it belongs here.

Here we landscaped around some of the welcoming signs. This one's area is kind of shady...
