Original view of the Oak Brook Library. We began work in June, 2005. There were two beds, both in full sun with heavy clay soil. A photo of the finished garden, taken in fall, 2005. See how out of place the meticulously maintained arborvitae look behind the native plants and grasses. Bird baths and bird houses were added to create a wildlife habitat. Decorative grasses provide shade, cover and texture. A view from the children's room. The garden was designed to allow them to watch the habitat from inside the library. The garden was certified by the Conservation Foundation. Click here for information about the Conservation Foundation Click here to see an update for this Oak Brook Library garden.
