A Bungalow Garden in Northside of Chicago, Illinois


The front of the home is seen in context in mid-September of 2012. It appears that the little niche by the side of the stairs and the front of the house perfectly accommodates this shady garden bed.



The stunning Blue-Stemmed Goldenrod, Solidago caesia, is a fountain of brilliant yellow. I like to use goldenrods and asters that are generally found in shadier places because they are not as agressive as the sun-loving varieties.

It is important to have Fall flowering plants in your garden to attract and feed various insects like butterflies and bees..
