Fox River Valley of Illinois

This bird house has been home to generations of critters through the years. What a story they could tell if they could onjly talk instead of chirp!

The nourishing seed-laden seed heads of a clump of Purple Coneflowers, Echinacea purpureum, provides much needed "fuel" for those birds migrating South following the Fox River.

I have always "preached" that native plantings provide as much color in the Fall when no plants are blooming as during any other time of the year.

Thanks for visiting our beautiful garden!
