Back Yard Rain Garden in Nsperville, Illinois
| This rain garden captures the water from the downspout which is directed to it through a four inch diameter flex-pipe buried under the flagstone path.

Although only a few years old, the raian garden is planted solidly. You can not see one square inch of bare soil. Note the Shepard's Hook bird feeder holder located in the center of the picture.

This stone stream bed (left) is not functional, but is intended to reinforce the impression that the water comes from the downpout to the rain garden. We did not want the water washing across the path although I do that in some instances.
