RAIN GARDENS AND WET PLACES
A 25' long stream bed was created at the base of a downspout.
A circular depression at the far end of the bed was planted with moisture-loving plants.
A year later, notice how the plants have filled in around the "stream bed."
Many, many different plants, exhibiting all kinds of characteristics, can be successfully brought together in a well-designed rain garden. As a matter of fact, it is essential that a variety of heights, colors, textures and bloom-times, etc., be used, otherwise the garden will be dull and drab.
