Art's Garden

Art's garden in Cicero started as a typical, grass-covered yard. The garden is in full sun. Bird feeders and water abound. Plants include: Goldenrod, Trumpet Vine and Purple Coneflowers.

Art's Garden The garden in late summer features the Purple New England Aster, Aster novae-angliae, with hundreds blooms on each plant.

The Common Evening Primrose, Oenothera biennis, is an attractive biennial seen here in the center of the photo. Its seeds are much loved by finches but the plant can become very weedy.

The tall flowering spikes of Purple Giant Hyssop, Agastache scrophuliriaefloia, give this flower a candelabra-like appearance. It freely attracts birds and butterflies. This specimum is growing amidst a stand of Sweet Joe Pye Weed, Eupatorium purpureum. Art's Garden
